Although the authors and the publisher have made every attempt to produce an accurate book, errors are sometimes overlooked, or accidentally introduced. This errata is being provided to give you up-to-date information about those errors that have been identified in the text and examples published in Advantage Database Server: The Official Guide.

Errors
There is an error in the Delphi code sample on page 349. The function InputBox should be replaced with the function InputQuery. This function appears three times in the code segments, and should be replaced in all three locations. The code sample on the code disk also contains this error.
Note also, while this code does not permit you to use a blank password, blank passwords are possible, though not recommended.
Upgrade
Your ADS 7.0 License to ADS 7.1
This book includes a single-user ADS Developer license for ADS version 7.0.
To upgrade your single-user Developer license to ADS version 7.1, visit upgrade
ADS and then select the option "Upgrading to the latest Advantage
product" on this page. Note that this version automatically recognizes
the Serial Number and Validation Code from a previously installed 7.0 version.
